About

Materials are only one part of a successful space.

For over 25 years, Ideal Tile has worked with Greater Boston homeowners and design professionals, from a showroom now in Needham Heights.

01Philosophy

Design intent has to survive five hand-offs before it becomes a room.

  1. 01Budgeting
  2. 02Procurement
  3. 03Fabrication
  4. 04Logistics
  5. 05Installation
  6. ResultThe room that was designed

At every hand-off, something can be lost: a slab swapped for a cheaper lot, a joint moved to save a cut, a transition improvised on site. Each one is small. Together they are the difference between a drawing and a disappointment.

Ideal exists to connect those pieces. We stay with the design from selection through budgeting, ordering, fabrication, delivery and installation, and we are accountable for how it turns out.

02How we work

We would rather ask one more question than fix one more problem on site.

Listen first
Every project starts with how the space will be used, who decides, and what the budget really is.
Say what we know
If a material is wrong for the room, we say so, and we explain why.
Stay to the end
The work is finished at the walk-through, not at delivery.

03The showroom

A place to make decisions, not just browse.

Our Needham showroom is laid out as rooms: full-scale kitchen and living vignettes, a surface library, and consultation tables sized for a set of drawings.

Working with the team at Ideal Tile changed how I think about surface design.
